We are extremely grateful to our dedicated Board of Directors, who not only take on full-time professional responsibilities, but also dedicate many volunteer hours to the smooth running of the Francophone Centre. Their commitment and passion for our cause is truly admirable, and thanks to their dedication, we can continue to provide quality services to our community.

Executive Committee
Jesse Léveillé - PresidentRaised in the Temiskaming Shores region, Jessie grew up in a bilingual environment. After completing his post-secondary studies at Collège Boréal, followed by Laurentian University, Jessie and his wife found themselves in various regions of northern Ontario. They settled in the Sault Ste Marie region. An outdoor enthusiast and proud francophone, Jessie was elected to the board of directors of the Francophone Centre in 2022 in order to support the pride and francophone culture of Sault Ste Marie.

Stephanie Salituri -Vice PresidentStephanie was born in Sault Ste. Marie, where she was raised in a bilingual environment. She completed her education entirely in French, attending Cardinal Léger, Notre Dame du Sault, and later graduating from Collège Boréal. In 2023, Stephanie was elected to the Board of Directors of the Francophone Centre, where she continues to champion Francophone pride and cultural vitality within the Sault Ste. Marie community.

Marc Boissonneault - TreasurerMarc is a Franco-Ontarian born in the North and has lived in Sault Ste. Marie for over 15 years. He holds a BA in Psychology and a Masters in Business Administration. He works as a manager in the Ontario Public Service and also as a reservist with the Sault Ste. Marie Cadets. Marc has been involved with the Centre francophone for several years and continues to contribute to the Administrative Council as treasurer.

Suzanne Salituri - SecretarySuzanne Salituri, a proud Franco-Ontarian with Acadian roots, was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie. She honours her mother, Fernande LeClair's legacy through decades of dedicated service as a passionate volunteer, committed board member, and active participant in Centre Francophone SSM activities. Her unwavering dedication has also inspired her children, Nathan and Stephanie Salituri, who proudly uphold her values and commitment to the Francophone community. Driven by her determination to preserve and promote French-language education and services in Sault Ste. Marie, Suzanne is a strong advocate for French-language Catholic education, championing its importance at the local, regional, and provincial levels.

Lise Roy - DirectorOriginally from Kapuskasing, Ontario which is a French and English speaking township, Lise and her husband, Jacques moved to Terrace Bay in 1975 where they raised three children. It was important for her children to be educated in a french school. Lise served as a trustee from 1989 - 1997 with the North of Superior Catholic School Board and Conseil scolaire de district catholique des Aurores Boréales which was later integrated. They also owned a pizzeria and subs restaurant for 25 years. After they retired, they moved to Sault St. Marie in 2018 to be with the family and grand-children. Presently, she works at Ecole Notre Dame du Sault as a lunch supervisor. She also joined the Centre Francophone of Sault St. Marie participating in the activities and festivals being offered to the public.

Tahirou Cisse - DirectorTahirou CISSÉ has been a director of the Francophone Center in Sault-Sainte-Marie (Ontario) since January 2025, where he works passionately for the development and promotion of Francophone culture within the community.
With 10 years of teaching experience in Canada and Mali, he has always been passionate about education and the development of learners' skills. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and Training, a teaching certificate from Prince Edward Island, is a Member of the Ontario College of Teachers and a Principal Master of Fundamental Education of Mali. He benefits from an international perspective that enriches his pedagogical approach. Tahirou is committed to promoting inclusive, enriching and stimulating learning teaching. He believes in the importance of preserving and developing the Francophone language and culture, while integrating innovative pedagogical approaches. |
Krystal Shannon - DirectorKrystal has lived her entire life in Sault Ste. Marie. She obtained two degrees from Algoma University one in English and the other History with a French minor. Since then, she has collected a few more degrees from Teachers College and a Masters in Education with a specialty in teaching second languages. Most of her adult life has been spent teaching in some capacity or another. She has taught power skating, volunteered with the Girl Guides of Canada, tutored students, and been a supply/ long term teacher with the ADSB. For the last four year she has been employed with Algoma University’s Modern language department, teaching French courses. When not teaching, Krystal and her son like to explore the regions hiking trails and beaches with family.

Carole Blaquière - CoordinatorCarole Blaquière has lived in the Algoma region for over 17 years. After working in the forestry industry and travelling throughout Northern Ontario, she started Blaq Bear Tours to showcase Sault Ste. Mare, Algoma and the shores of Lake Superior. Her parents are French-Canadian, originally from the Gaspé region of Quebec and she grew up bilingual in Montreal. She was happy to become a part-time coordinator, to explore the Franco-Ontarian culture and language. She continues to manage her tourism business while working for the CFSSM. There may be French language tours in the future.
